Another key area of focus for the Foundation is compassion and well-being. Our goal is to support those organizations that understand the importance of empathy and cooperation in our daily interactions with others and the positive effects inherent in restoring individuals' and families' abilities to stand independently. These organizations are responding to the increasing need for compassion and respect for each others' differences.
Grantees range from the Ojai Foundation, which helped establish the Council Practitioner Center addressing LAUSD's priority for creating "safe, caring environments" for students, staff, parents and community members, to organizations such as The Good People Fund and Modest Needs Foundation, which provide emergency relief to individuals and families in need, as well as support to small non-profits advocating for change and building stronger communities.
Whether through programs rooted in the Arts or in Compassion and Well-Being, all of the Foundation’s grantees help members of their community meet their potential to lead more creative, productive and fulfilling lives.
